To locate the target object the pendulum is held correctly, and is then suspended over each of the compass points at edge of the map. It is then allowed to swing and a pencil line is drawn following that line.
After four pencil lines have been drawn there is an intersection of the lines...somewhere on the map. That's the x-zone where the target is located.
This is a workable method, especially when you are trying to locate a target which may be in one of several adjoining States, for instance, i.e., a downed aircraft. It is not so workable when the target is moving from one place to another, i.e., a fugitive. This method worked, however, for animals as they do not move in a wide area. Wm. Reininger, who acted as our Pendulum training Instructor was able to use this to find a goodly number of missing animals and two Alzheimers' Disease patients who had escaped from their treatment facilities.
When we located a missing airplane 4 years ago (missing between Roosevelt Utah and Los Angeles) we used this method of compass coordinates on a map of the Western States = AAA. We had a key chain that had not gone with the pilot, as a hard-target.
There were two women on the plane - his wife and daughter.
Picked up an x-zone 26 mi. N/NW of Baker CA. That was exact location of downed plane.
However, we have, in the past, done similar jobs for C.A.P. in Alaska, without the hard-target, and successfully. Suggest you try, as we did, several methods to get at the missing object targets. The method we use could conceivably be called 'dowsing'. However, when you add the rv to the mix - it's a little different. Dowsing will only tell you so much...perhaps not enough.
