Kursk reactors are in working order/ massive explosion fwd half of the boat/ everyone within two to three sections killed instantly.
Remaining crew will not survive - he effortrs to rescue them will take too long - apparently this is what the 'russians' or someone had in mind all along.
There is also another on board - who is not russian - may be Arab? there is great tension and hostility within the boat.

This vessel was in the proces of testing a new technology - which I see had to do with a new type of torpedo - a targeting system I think.
For some time, work has been ongoing to produce a kind of 'silent' torpedo that would be undetectable. Problems with the gyroscope - there has been testing with a 'magnetic' hyper drive.
The russian government would not let anyone examine the boat
- except to look for survivors.
